Wildfire Aware Situation Report: Weather Discussion

Dry and breezy weather leading to elevated and critical fire weather conditions are expected across much of the Great Basin, in the Cascade Gaps, and into the northern Rockies, northern High Plains, deserts of southern California, portions of the Southwest, and western Colorado. Above normal temperatures will continue across the Desert Southwest, southern California, Texas, the Plains, and into the Mississippi Valley and Southeast, with relatively dry and breezy conditions also expected in portions of Texas into the Mid-Mississippi Valley. Isolated to scattered mixed wet and dry thunderstorms will continue across the Southwest, greater Four Corners, Central Rockies, and possibly into far southern and eastern Nevada, southeast and central Idaho, and southwest Montana. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms and showers are forecast over the Midwest and Great Lakes, including severe thunderstorms, and along the Gulf and southeast Atlantic Coasts. Well above normal temperatures and thunderstorms will continue across much of the Alaska Interior.
Red Flag Warnings remain in effect for northern Nevada, southern Idaho, and Northern Montana. There are The Storm Prediction Center has issued Elevated Fire Weather areas from Northeastern California through Western Nevada, Central Idaho, and into Montana. A Critical Fire Weather area covers the Oregon, California, and Nevada border.
