Wildfire Aware Situation Report: Weather Discussion
Provided by the National Interagency Fire Center

Hot, dry, and breezy conditions will continue across much of the southern and central Plains into the Midwest, New Mexico, southern Colorado, and the rest of Texas ahead of a cold front. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will develop across east Texas through the Lower Mississippi Valley, ArkLaTex, and into the Mid-Mississippi Valley and Ozarks. Scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected across the northeast Great Basin and central and northern Rockies onto the central and northern Plains. Lingering showers are also likely across the Pacific Northwest, especially along and west of the Cascades. Gusty winds are likely through the Columbia Gorge and in portions of the northern Great Basin, but relative humidity will be 30-50%. Below-normal temperatures will continue across much of the West, with above-normal temperatures extending from the Midwest and Great Lakes through the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
Red Flag Warnings are in effect in the Southern High Plains. The Storm Prediction Center has issued elevated areas of fire weather concern across the Southern High Plains and from Nebraska into Minnesota.
