Wildfire Aware Situation Report

Hot, dry, and breezy conditions will continue to impact portions of the southern Plains, Texas, and Louisiana. A more typical trade wind pattern creating localized dry and breezy conditions will occur across the Hawaiian Island chain. Monsoonal moisture creating a mix of wet and dry thunderstorms will remain over portions of the Four Corners states. Remnants of Tropical Storm Eugene will continue to edge northward over California, creating an isolated mix of wet and dry storms favoring the central Sierra. Warming and drying will continue across the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies. Alaska will experience warmer and drier airmass found across the North Slopes and northern Interior and a cooler and more moist one across southern areas with scattered thunderstorms across much of the Interior. Scattered to widespread thunderstorms will impact the Midwest to the Southeast with severe thunderstorms most likely across the Midwest.

Red Flag Warnings are in effect across Central Texas. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect for Northwestern Oregon. The Storm Prediction Center has issued an area of fire weather concern for Texas for another day.
