Wildfire Aware Situation Report: Weather Discussion
Provided by the National Interagency Fire Center

Hot, dry, and breezy conditions will develop ahead of a cold frontal passage across portions of New Mexico, Texas, and the lower Mississippi Valley. A mix of wet and dry thunderstorms will be found along and ahead of this cold front and impact portions of the Four Corner states as well as Texas and the lower Mississippi Valley. A mix of wet and dry thunderstorms will also affect large portions of California and Nevada although they will be slower moving with a nighttime thunderstorm threat across northwest California. The heat wave will strengthen across the Pacific Northwest and portions of northern California and provide a thermal trough-induced critical fire weather pattern, especially across the Coastal and Cascade Ranges. Temperatures will moderate some across Alaska with continued scattered shower and thunderstorm activity. Heavier concentrations of wetting thunderstorms will be found across portions of the upper Great Lakes, mid-Atlantic and large portions of the Southeast.
Red Flag Warnings remain across the Pacific Northwest. The Storm Prediction Center has issued another day of Elevated Fire Weather across parts of the Coastal Ranges and Central Cascades of Washington and Oregon.
